~terrible~

So, im up at my mommas in Muskoka...usually a grand time, i love it here.

My mom is a fire fighter for Muskoka lakes twp. it is made up of like 9 stations around muskoka lakes. my mom wears a pager for the FD. well this evening while we were perping dinner, a page went out for stations 7 and 5.(mom is station 9) The call was for a water rescue. 2 people went thru. as more info is transmitted we hear that it is a 45 year old woman and a 12 year old. Thats when my stomach tightens. Time passes, and more transmissions come over the pager.... they are not visable. But its winter, there i a chance...it is possible to survive a drowning when hypothermic. Info is requested, it is found out form the witness, that his wife and preteen were belted into a mule (thinking something pulled behind a snow machine) There is no chance of survival. They will be sitting at the bottom of the frozen lake, belted in. Absolutly terrible. my heart aches for this family. Sometimes its hard to have a firefighter for a mom.

Thoughts and prayers for this man, and those poor souls.

I read the article in the Globe and Mail this morning. It was so sad; the husband was in the Navy and was a diver, and so he dived in but couldn't get them out. My heart goes out to all of the people involved.
